The Cannonball Run (1981)

We always say the best music, movies and TV shows have all been made, we’re here to help you remember them all.
1981’s “The Canonball Run” is proof of that.

With an all-star cast, a who was who back in the day in Hollywood, the movie is a satirical look on the 1979 running of an actual cross-country outlaw road race in the United States, beginning in Connecticut and ending in California.

There are so many stars in this movie that it’d take forever to go through them all. Burt Reynolds, Dom DeLuise (another amazingly underrated comedy duo), Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. Farrah Fawcett-Majors, Adrienne Barbeau, Roger Moore, Terry Bradshaw, Jackie Chan, it goes on and on and on.

If there was an award for best outtakes of all time, this movie would have won it hands down. Still, to this day, the best outtakes of any movie belong to Cannonball Run. See the outtakes below.

The movie was budgeted for 16-18 million dollars and did over 160 million dollars at The box office. The movie was so successful, such an ingrained part of our culture at the time, they decided to do a sequel, The Cannonball Run II was released in 1984. For more on that movie, click HERE.
