We always say the best music, movies and TV shows have all been made, we’re here to help you remember them all. 2001’s “Just Visiting” is another shining example of that.
The movie was a remake of the French film “Les Visiteurs.” Unfortunately, it did nowhere what the original did at the box office but, this is one of those lost gems that got lost in time. (No pun intended) The movie cost 35 million to make but only did a smidge over 16 million dollars at the box office. 2001 was a brutal year and 9/11 may have had an impact on any chance the movie had to make a better run seeing as though it was released in April.
The story starts in the 12th century and winds up coming to 21st century Chicago. Jean Reno’s wizard sends him forward in time (instead of back) to save his fiancé’ who was poisoned a day earlier. When he and his peasant wind up in 21st century Chicago, he winds up meeting a descendant of his and that’s when the fun really begins.
The movie stars Jean Reno, Christina Applegate, Christian Clavier, Malcolm McDowell, Tara Reid, Bridgette Wilson and is narrated by Kelsey Grammer.
