Hart To Hart

All the best music, movies and TV shows have already been made, we’re here to help you remember them all. The 70s classic TV show Hart To Hart is another shining example of that!

The show began as a made-for-tv two hour pilot in August of 1979 on ABC, ran for 110 episodes until it came to an end in 1984.

The show starred Robert Wagner as a suave and deboair millionaire named Jonathan Hart, Stefanie Powers as his wife along side Lionel Stander who played his houseman and of course their cute doggy, Freeway.

The show was really an ‘evolution’ of sorts. Orginally, Chicago-born Sidney Sheldon (I Dream Of Jeannie and others) wrote a script titled “Double Twist” in the early 70s for CBS aabout a married couple who lived a double life as spies, no one wanted it. Then, Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg updated it with a new writer, Tom Mankiewicz (Diamonds Are Forever, Live And Let Die, The Man With The Golden Gun and others) and the rest is history.

Wagner was married to Natalie Wood, billed under her real name Natasha Gurdin, made an appearance on the show before her death in 1981. Also in the supporting cast was Jill St. John who’d marry Wagner in 1991. Things that make ya go hmmm.

The show debuted on ABC in November of 1978 and ran for 8 seasons with a total of 189 episodes, coming to an end in September 1985.
