ABOUT DIANA ROSS
Diana Ross was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 26, 1944.
According to Ross, her mother actually named her "Diane", but, a clerical error resulted in her name being recorded as "Diana" on her birth certificate. She was listed as "Diane" during the first Supremes records, and she introduced herself as "Diane" until early in the group's heyday. Her friends and family still call her "Diane", we still her "The Boss."
From movies to the stage, Ross has amassed an amazing array of awards. From the supergroup "The Supremes" to her solo career, you're going to be pretty hard-pressed to find ANYONE in the entertainment business who has had the staying AND billing power of Ms. Ross.
When you look back at her career spanning over 6 decades, her list of accomplishments is long and respected.
With hundreds of millions of records sold, tens of millions of songs spun and videos played, Grammy, Academy Award nominations and more, it's an amazing and rare occasion one person accomplishes so much:
