Cisco Kid

The best music, movies and TV shows have already been made, we’re here to help you remember them all. The Cisco Kid is one of those shows that proves that

Growing up in Chicago, our Sundays were unique. We had The Magic Door, Jubilee Showcase, Bob Luce Wrestling, The Lone Ranger, Family Classics with Frazier Thomas and The Cisco Kid.

Righting wrongs across the wild west, Duncan Renaldo starred as Cisco and his trusty sidekick Pancho, played by
Leo Carrillo. The show ran for 156 episodes from 1950 – 1956 and was the first TV series filmed in color.

The history of Cisco Kid goes back to the fictional character from film, radio, television and comic book created by O. Henry in his 1907 short story “The Caballero’s Way”, published in the collection Heart of the West, as well as in Everybody’s Magazine, v17, July 1907. Originally a murderous criminal in O. Henry’s story, the Kid was depicted as a heroic Mexican caballero later in films, radio and the television adaptations that we grew up with.
