Let’s go back to 1980

Another male-bonding classic, this was fellow Chicagoan, the late Harold Ramis’ debut as a director.

The movie was written by fellow Chicago area alum Brian Doyle-Murray, Ramis, and Douglas Kenney.

Starring Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight, Michael O’Keefe, and Bill Murray along with Brian Doyle-Murray.

The movie sent Rodney’s career into the stratosphere. Mostly known mostly for his stand-up comedy.

Grossing nearly $40 million at box office (the 17th-highest of the year), the movie’s one-liners became embedded in many of our vocabularies who were brought up as ’80’s kids’.

The sequel, Caddyshack II (1988) was abysmal and hard to watch.
