ABOUT THE MOVIE
Another great movie from John Hughes filmed in the Chicago area. Complete with a massive hit from Simple Minds with “Don’t You (Forget About Me), this is an 80’s icon. The referred to the cast as “The Brat Pack.”

Five high school students from different walks of life endure a Saturday detention under a power-hungry principal (Paul Gleason).

The disparate group includes rebel John (Judd Nelson), princess Claire (Molly Ringwald), outcast Allison (Ally Sheedy), brainy Brian (Anthony Michael Hall) and Andrew (Emilio Estevez), the jock.

Each has a chance to tell his or her story, making the others see them a little differently.

In 2016, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.

The movie was budgeted for a paltry million dollars, it brought in over 51 million dollars at the box office, that’s amazing.
