Let’s go back to 1987 for this 80’s movie classic.

ABOUT THE MOVIE

One of the best of the 80’s. Directed by Norman Jewison and written by John Patrick Shanley. Cher plays a widowed, 37-year-old, Italian-American woman who falls in love with her fiancé’s estranged, hot-tempered younger brother.

The film was released on December 16, 1987 in New York City, and then nationally on January 15, 1988.

Moonstruck was nominated for six Oscars at the 60th Academy Awards, winning for Best Original Screenplay, Best Actress (Cher), and Best Supporting Actress (Olympia Dukakis).

You’ll notice a very young John Mahoney guest starring as “Perry” in a small part.

The movie was budgeted at 15 million dollars and brought in over 80 million dollars at the box office that year.
