The Outhere Brothers – Boom Boom Boom (1994)
This is just one of the many great songs you’d hear on The Beat Chicago.
There’s enough stations playing rock n’ roll classics and the same 80’s songs from Bon Jovi, Journey, John Cougar, Elton John all day long and that’s all cool but, when you want something completely different? When you want everything from Marvin Gaye, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Spinners to Stevie B, C+C Music Factory and more of the music that keeps you movin? We’re it.
See, we’re all about the classics too…. Classic R&B and dance of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, freestyle and more. For us, it’s not about how old a song is, it’s about how good it is and this is as good as it gets.
Risqué rappers the Outhere Brothers formed here in the house music capitol of the world, Chicago back in 1987; comprised of lyricist Malik and producer/remixer Hula.
What many may not know is that they wrote DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince 1991 hit “Summertime”
For their solo career, Boom Boom Boom was their debut in 1995 which topped the U.K. pop charts for four weeks on its way to selling over a million copies throughout Europe. The song would top the charts in Germany, Ireland and Scotland while going top 10 in Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland
When the follow-up “Don’t Stop (Wiggle Wiggle)” also reached number one in Britain, the Outhere Brothers became just the third act in U.K. history to score back-to-back chart-toppers with their first two releases.
The album titled “1 Polish, 2 Biscuits and a Fish Sandwich” was released in 1995 as well. In 1996, they released “The Party Album” and in 1997, “The Other Side” would be released before the end of the century.
