GREAT GOLDEN GROOVES
Great Golden Grooves is a featured show here on The Beat Sunday – Thursday from 11PM ET – 6AM ET in the city where Soul Train was born, Chicago IL.
Back in the day at our alma mater, WBMX, Program Director Lee Michaels named his on-air show Great Golden Grooves and played classic R&B and ‘old school’ of the day for that era which was the late 60’s to ’70s. Richard Peague over at WGCI used to do his show as well called “Music Of Your Life” while Herb Kent was doin’ his thing on WXFM and other stations before he’d land at V103 (post WBMX).
We bring the best of what those shows were all about here and to life with a wide variety of classic R&B, Blue-Eyed Soul, funk, disco and more, just like Lee did back in the day. We bring it all together from Motown to Philly, record row in Chicago to the Sound Of Los Angeles and more.
